"As our local chapter's Secretary I was honored to attend the National Convention in Chattanooga, TN at the famous Read House Hotel. The hotel itself is fabulous. It is adorned with antique embellishments, walnut woodcarvings, marble floors, beautiful chandeliers, Civil War paintings and a residential ghost.

 

As several meetings were in session, I attended the Alabama State Caucuses with President Donna Windam at the helm. She is a member of the Dothan chapter at Troy University. The meeting included the tallying of volunteer hours from each chapter with the grand total of 160 hours for Alabama. All spoke with very encouraging words to us as a new chapter.

 

Overall the National Convention was an inspiration to me and I look forward to returning next year. "
